"If I had a flower for every time I thought of you, I could walk through my garden forever."
~ Alfred Tennyson
Valentine's Day is coming back around. Prepare to see your feed flooded with rose bundles, chocolates, and kisses. It's the season of love, for couples, family, and friends. For a photographer, that means romantic, intimate, and fun photoshoots. Whenever preparing for a holiday-themed shoot, there are so many things that can be done, and Valentine's Day is no different.
For Valentine's Day, depending on the type of shoot, a set can take on many different forms. One of the fun things about any photoshoot, though, is the props, and I have a few favorites when it comes to Valentine's Day.

Roses
What is Valentine's Day without roses?! We're either waiting for a large bouquet of a hundred roses to be sent or are sending it ourselves! Roses are an elegant accessory that can elevate any photo. Whether it's a delicate rose milk bath or boudoir shot with rose petals all over the bed, they are the perfect accessory for Valentine's Day.

Chocolate
Another must when preparing for Valentine's Day. In fact, Japan has a whole culture when it comes to gifting chocolate, especially for Valentine's Day. It's no wonder across the globe, chocolate sales spike in February. Adding a bit of food into any photo session can get a bit messy, but it's certainly fun and especially romantic for couples.

Floating/ Falling Arrangements
Falling hearts or floating flowers. Interweaving subjects through stringed arrangements offer a creative shoot with an interesting composition.

Lights
Lights have a way of making any event or time feel magical. Day or night, lights can be used to brighten any photo session. Create a fairy effect with small white lights. Play with beautiful bokeh. Involve movement with slow shutter speed to make shapes or write messages.

Balloons, lots of balloons
Balloons just make the set more fun! You can find balloons for anything and there are a plethora for Valentine's Day. Get some assorted colors, make a garland, put "love" right above you, and have at it! Just be careful to not let anything pop.
What would you include as accessories on your Valentine's Day photoshoot?
